Before ordering a laptop screen for replacement, check that the problem is really coming from the broken Screen and not from another component. Plug in a VGA or HDMI cable from an external Source into the existing video port, of the laptop.
Connect the other end of the video cable to a known working external monitor/screen, turn the laptop on, and you should be able to see if the laptop is working.
